UTC Expired Statutes

When statutes are removed from Appendix C due to legislative changes, verbiage changes, or other reasons, they are marked as expired in TraCS.

Expired statutes cannot be used on the UTC, and they will not be available for selection in the data bar.   However, they will still show on the list if you press the Search button.   Expired statutes cannot be removed from the Search list because it would remove them from the database and affect historical forms.

If you select an expired statute from the Search list, you will not be able to validate your citation, and you will get an error like the one shown below.

If you have an expired statute saved as a favorite on your Search button list, remove it by highlighting it and pressing Clear Favorite.   A screenshot is at the bottom of this page if needed.

In the case of 316.646(1), the violation was split into two sections in July 2024.  The violation with the previous verbiage was removed from Appendix C and expired in TraCS.   Officers should select the statute with the updated verbiage that applies.
