UTC Expired Statutes

From TraCS Florida Wiki
Revision as of 14:59, 3 December 2025 by Admin (talk | contribs)

When statutes are removed from Appendix C due to legislative changes, verbiage changes, or other reasons, they are flagged as expired in TraCS.

Expired statutes cannot be used on the UTC, and they will not be available for selection in the data bar.   However, they will still show on the list if you press the Search button.   They cannot be removed from the Search list because that would remove them from the database and affect historical forms.

If you select an expired statute from the Search list, you will not be able to validate your citation, and you will get an error like the one shown below.

You may remove an expired statute from your Search button favorites by highlighting it and pressing Clear Favorite.   A screenshot is at the bottom of this page if needed.

316.646(1) - Proof of Insurance Required

In the case of 316.646(1), Proof of Insurance Required, the violation was split into two parts in July 2024, operator is owner and operator is not the owner.   The violation with the previous verbiage was removed from Appendix C and expired in TraCS.   Officers may select the applicable updated violation when issuing a citation.
