Writing School Zone Camera Violations in TraCS

Agencies may write citations in TraCS for school zone camera violations:

316.1895(10) - Unlawful speed in school zone - CAMERA DEVICE ONLY- (requires speeds)

316.183(2) - SCHOOL ZONE ONLY - CAMERA DEVICE ONLY (requires speeds)

Citations will be manually created in TraCS by the officer.

TraCS will number the forms using TraCS issued form #s.

TraCS will submit citations to the clerk along w/ the rest of the daily citation uploads.

TraCS can export a XML to the agency for the camera vendor to pick up once a day.   TraCS will use a filter of the charges 316.183(2) & 316.1895(10) to know which citations get exported.   In addition, if your agency writes citations in multiple municipalities which use different camera vendors, we can use the Zone/District field to decide where to export the XML file for the respective vendor.

Agency Notes

TraCS does not import data from external school zone camera vendors.

Agencies must be on version 16.0.2 or higher.

The agency should not request citation numbers for the camera vendor.

Camera Vendor Notes

It is the camera vendor's responsibility to parse the raw TraCS XML data.
