UTC Statutory Requirements - Signatures & Fingerprints

From TraCS Florida Wiki

Per FSS 318.14(2), a violator signature is required on all criminal violations and any infraction that has a mandatory court appearance.

Infractions that require a court appearance per statute are listed in FSS 318.19.

Per UTC Procedures Manual (page 14), if the violator refuses to sign, the officer should write "refused" on the signature line.

Per FSS 322.15, if the violator fails to display a driver license, the officer must get a violator fingerprint on the citation.

All citations with signatures and fingerprints must be delivered to the clerk by the agency, including those in counties whose court appearance violations transmit electronically.

Officers should deliver their signed and fingerprinted citations to the appropriate person or division at the agency so they may be delivered to the clerk.   If you do not know where to turn them in , refer to your agency policy for guidance.
