Crash Revenue Sharing

From TraCS Florida Wiki

Per Florida State Statute (FSS) 321.23, FLHSMV shall charge $10 for a copy of a crash report purchased from them by mail, in person, or online via the Florida Crash Portal.

When agencies submit their crash reports to HSMV in a timely manner and without error, they may receive $5 of that fee if the crash is purchased on the Florida Crash Portal.   Timely is defined as within 10 days of the date of the crash.

HSMV Guidelines for Registering for Crash Revenue Sharing

An investigating agency that submits a crash report within the statutorily 10-day requirement may receive $5.00 of the amount collected per crash report copy per Florida Statute, pursuant to 321.23

The law enforcement agency (LEA) must provide their tax ID number to set up the payment.   The amount is based only on crash reports submitted by the specific LEA, sold on the portal.

Agencies must access My Florida Marketplace at https://vendor.myfloridamarketplace.com/ and register.   Upon registering, notify FLHSMV Reporting and Distribution by emailing acctcredits@flhsmv.gov with their federal employee identification number (FEID/Tax ID number) and advise that registration was completed via My Florida Market Place.

Once the LEA is registered, they can track payments to their agency via the Revenue Distribution Payment Reports or or Vendor Payment History
